Honesty, like language, will be lost, as we are beginning to see, if not taught to children so they can take it on. It is natural. That is how things happen. If you don't take a value like honesty on, by teaching it to the little ones, then it will disappear altogether. We don't want that kind of society, do we? If our society is what it is today, imagine what it will be if honesty disappears altogether. Imagine it. As an enlightened person, you have a responsibility to teach the value of honesty to the people around you, especially children. It is, in fact, a divine responsibility and God will ask you how well you fulfilled it. Each one of us must deliberately teach the value of honesty to children using whatever opportunities and resources we have available to us. Are you a parent? You have a whole lot to do and we just hope you are doing them. Are you a teacher? Are you a religious leader? Are you an uncle or an aunt? Are you a big brother or a big sister? Whoever you are wherever you are, this charge is for you - teach honesty to the people around you, especially children. And we believe you know already that the best way to teach a value is to model it. They may not hear what you are telling them and if they hear, they may not listen. But when you model honesty, when you live honestly, they will surely see you and try to emulate you. So, don't just point the way for them to go; lead the way and let them follow you.
