In the continued effort towards building a united and peaceful country, the Network and Advocacy Group of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation on Thursday, December 16, 2021 visited the Bachama Traditional Council and Demsa Traditional Council respectively. The NAAG team led by the project officer Nana Mohammed on behalf of the Coordinator, Dr. Inya Ode, explained that the visits were part of the commitment of the Lux Terra NAAG to forge collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the country in addressing the challenges confronting the unity and peace of Nigeria. The NAAG team presented their core mandate to the traditional councils, and these mandates are captured as ‘The Big 5’ which includes the Promotion of Social Justice, Inclusion and the Management of Diversity, Citizenship and Civic Participation, Conflict Prevention and Management, National Integration and Peaceful Coexistence. The secretary of the Bachama Traditional Council Mr Ambrose who received the Lux Terra NAAG team on behalf of the Hama Bachama Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila appreciated the visits to the Palace and assured of the commitment, support and collaboration of His Royal Highness for the greater good of the Nigerian people irrespective of where they are coming from. The Royal father believes in Nigeria and the need for all of us to work together and speak in one voice on issues that promote unity and progress. The team was later received by the Demsa Traditional Council at the Palace of His Royal Highness Hama Bata Homun Alhamdu Gladson Teneke. The Royal father, through the District Head of Demsa, appreciated the Lux Terra Team for finding the time to call on the traditional council, and for recognizing their role in the work of building a peaceful nation. The Royal father acknowledged that the traditional institution plays a strategic role promoting the unity and peace of Nigeria and assured the team of his commitment to partner with the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation to achieve the set objectives. He said that at a time like this in our journey as a nation, we must all see ourselves as one regardless of tribe, religion and region, for him, it is to our collective advantage that we all remain as one country, united in love for one another, he said before any other considerations, we must see ourselves first as human beings, having many things in common. The Royal father readily accepted to be part of the Network and Advocacy Group of the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation. The visited ended with the NAAG team presenting the representatives of both councils with some of Lux Terra’s publications and IEC materials. #LuxTerraAdvocacy #NetworkAndAdvocacyGroup #AdvocacyVisit #NBAAdamawa #BeTheChange #WeShallOvercome #NigeriaWillPrevail
