In furtherance of its commitment to build a network of stakeholders from all walks of life, who are committed to working for unity and peace in Nigeria, the Network and Advocacy Group of Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, paid a visit to the Nigerian Bar Association Adamawa State Branch. The NAAG team was received on the visit by the chapter chairman of the NBA, Barr. Jibril Jimeta was represented by the financial secretary of the NBA alongside other members of the Association. Speaking on behalf of the NAAG team, the NAAG project officer, Nana Mohammed stated that the visit was to formally introduce the Network and Advocacy Group to the NBA and to share the message of its core mandates with the team. The mandates include the Promotion of Social Justice, Inclusion and the Management of Diversity, Citizenship and Civic Participation, Conflict Prevention and Management, National Integration and Peaceful Coexistence. The visit equally offered the NAAG team the opportunity to forge a collaboration with the NBA in Adamawa state on the important role it plays in the promotion of justice in the society. This collaboration is premised on the fact that Peace and Unity can only be achieved when there is Justice in the land, as such, with partners in the Justice system of Nigeria, the goals of the Network and Advocacy group will be easier to achieve. While thanking the Lux Terra team for the visit, the NBA leadership said it was ready to work with the NAAG team in promoting its core mandate across Nigeria. The chairman noted that thousands of people across Nigeria are in need of justice and that the NBA is working tirelessly to ensure that justice is served at all times. He further commended the efforts of the Lux Terra Foundation in carrying out numerous programmes that impact the lives of many Nigerians and that the NAAG project is one of its kinds in ensuring that Nigerians understand the core values needed for nation building and peaceful coexistence. The visit ended with the NAAG team presenting the NBA Members with some of Lux Terra’s publications and IEC materials.
